Softball Recap: Robertson Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Robertson lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Santa Fe Indian, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Cardinals' pitcher stepped up to hand the Braves a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cardinals as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Ariana Sanchez's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Amor Allen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Ortega, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Robertson pushed their record up to 8-12 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Fe Indian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Robertson beat the Braves by a score of 5-1 later that day.
