Recap: River Valley Dust Devils vs. Yuma Catholic Shamrocks
After flying high against the Tonopah Valley Phoenix last Friday, the River Valley Dust Devils came back down to earth. River Valley was dealt a 59-12 loss at the hands of Yuma Catholic on Wednesday. River Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.
Amanda Wiley continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Yuma Catholic, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Wiley is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Briyanna Pisano was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Yuma Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Valley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against American Leadership Academy - West Foothills at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. Yuma Catholic's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tonopah Valley at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Tonopah Valley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last 11 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
