Northwest has been on a difficult stretch since their win on January 3. They fell just short of the Timber Creek Falcons by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Texans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Falcons are ranked 45th).

Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for Timber Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2-2 record this season.

Looking ahead, Northwest will square off against Keller at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keller's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Northwest's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Timber Creek, they will challenge Bell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Timber Creek's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
