Freedom took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Armwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Freedom had just enough and edged out Armwood 4-3 on Thursday. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered an 11-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Devon Acord and Connor Cress did most of the damage at the plate: Acord scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1, while Cress went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases Acord has posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory got Freedom back to even at 9-9. As for Armwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freedom will venture away from home to take on Spoto at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Armwood, they will head out to challenge Jefferson at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
