Basketball Game Preview: Meadowdale Mavericks vs. Mountlake Terrace Hawks

The Meadowdale Mavericks will square off against the Mountlake Terrace Hawks at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Meadowdale is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Meadowdale lost 68-47 to Shorewood on Tuesday.

Shorecrest typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Mountlake Terrace proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 45-40 victory over the Scots. The win was all the more spectacular given the Hawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Scots are ranked 23rd).

Mountlake Terrace has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Meadowdale, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Meadowdale couldn't quite finish off Mountlake Terrace in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 59-56. Can Meadowdale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
