Recap: Silver Lake vs. Wilcox-Hildreth

On Friday, Wilcox-Hildreth put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. They put the hurt on Silver Lake with a sharp 63-32 victory. That looming 31-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Wilcox-Hildreth yet.

Wilcox-Hildreth's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 63 points in the first half. Silver Lake countered with 12 points, leaving the score at 63-12 going into the half. Wilcox-Hildreth were outperformed in the second half 0-20 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the win.

No one put up better numbers for Wilcox-Hildreth than senior Aj Jenkins, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 146 yards and 4 touchdowns. In fact, with nine tackles Jenkins was a force on both sides of the ball. Senior Bryce Tobiassen was in the mix, too, providing Wilcox-Hildreth with 3 touchdowns. The win bumped their record up to 5-0. Silver Lake are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-5.

Next week Wilcox-Hildreth take on Eustis-Farnam at 3:00 PM. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown. As for Silver Lake, they will face off against Hampton. These teams both have had a rocky road up to this point with five consecutive losses for Silver Lake and three for Hampton.
