Basketball Recap: Ben Chuttey Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Rock Hill

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Indian Land, Nation Ford was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Rock Hill Bearcats by a score of 57-50. This was a revenge game for the Falcons : when they faced off against the Bearcats back in January, they had to take a 65-57 defeat.

Nation Ford got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ben Chuttey out in front who posted 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. What's more, Chuttey also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Garrin Brookover, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Nation Ford was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Rock Hill's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deionne Robertson, who scored nine points and five boards. Robertson also put up two blocks, which werehis first of the season. Nigel Lightner was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Nation Ford's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Rock Hill, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-16.

Nation Ford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-61 victory against Catawba Ridge on the 7th. As for Rock Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-52 win against Northwestern on the 7th.
