Volleyball Recap: Illini Central Falls to Pawnee in First Game of Season

Illini Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pawnee Indians on Tuesday. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Indians from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

Illini Central was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Morgan Peterson, who had 15 digs and one assist.

Illini Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Delavan on the 28th. Pawnee has also already played their next contest (against North Greene), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
