Salem won the last time they faced Eastern and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Musketeers 44-14. With the Lions ahead 30-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Salem got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caris Moore out in front who rushed for 106 yards and one score on only 11 carries. Those 106 rushing yards gave Moore a new career-high. Draike Cutrell was in the mix too, providing Salem with two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Salem was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 270 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

The win made it two in a row for Salem and bumps their season record up to 3-4. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 25 points. As for Eastern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Salem wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 21-20 victory against Charlestown on the 10th. As for Eastern, they have also already played their next contest, a 64-0 defeat against Scottsburg on the 10th.
