Basketball Recap: Susan Moore Bulldogs vs. Brindlee Mountain Lions
The Susan Moore Bulldogs stacked a 16th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Brindlee Mountain at home to the tune of 76-34. Winning may never get old, but Susan Moore sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Susan Moore to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lani Smallwood, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Smallwood also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Kirsten Ingram was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with four steals.
Susan Moore's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-4. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.1 points. As for Brindlee Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
Susan Moore will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Pennington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 29th). Brindlee Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
