Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Fernley's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Fernley won the last time they faced Lowry and things went their way on Saturday too. The Fernley Vaqueros came out on top against the Lowry Buckaroos by a score of 66-54. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vaqueros.

Fernley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Dunagan-Stephens, who went 7 for 14 en route to 25 points. That's the most points Dunagan-Stephens has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nolan Berreman, who posted 15 points and three steals.

Several Buckaroos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaden Jimenez, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. Byron Jimenez was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Fernley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Lowry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.

Fernley has already played their next game, a 51-42 defeat against Dayton on the 24th. As for Lowry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-50 loss against Spring Creek on the 24th.
