Preview: Highland Rim Academy vs. Christian Community Colts
Highland Rim Academy is 0-6 against Christian Community since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Highland Rim Academy will head out on the road to challenge the Christian Community Colts at 6:00 p.m.
Last Friday, Highland Rim Academy ended up a good deal behind South Haven Christian and lost 39-23.
Meanwhile, Christian Community put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Haven Christian 49-19 at home. Winning may never get old, but Christian Community sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
M.J. Dodd went supernova for Christian Community, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Dodd scored 15 or more points. A.C. Caverly was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Highland Rim Academy's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.0 points per game. As for Christian Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-9 record this season.
Highland Rim Academy lost to Christian Community on the road by a decisive 41-23 margin in their previous meeting last Saturday. Can Highland Rim Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
