Baseball Recap: Locust Fork Takes a Loss

Locust Fork was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hanceville Bulldogs. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Locust Fork saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Keith, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Locust Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Hanceville, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

While Locust Fork had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
