Softball Recap: Ponder Lions vs. Whitesboro Bearcats
Ponder took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Whitesboro, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions skirted past the Bearcats 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Bearcats back in March, they had to take a 12-0 loss.

Vada Cochrum spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
