Volleyball Recap: Athens Comes Up Short

Athens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rice Lake Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bluejays of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Athens' loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Athens will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Chequamegon at 7:00 p.m. on September 9. As for Rice Lake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ashland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
