Baseball Game Preview: East Stroudsburg South Cavaliers vs. Delaware Valley Warriors

East Stroudsburg South and Delaware Valley are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Cavaliers will challenge the Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. East Stroudsburg South's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Delaware Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

East Stroudsburg South made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Pleasant Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cavaliers put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 10-0 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.

East Stroudsburg South got a great performance from Liam Huffman as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Huffman has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Aaron Kasperski was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Aidan Cruz also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

East Stroudsburg South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Valley only posted an OBP of .263.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Delaware Valley's offense. They came up short against Abington Heights on Wednesday, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost eight in a row.

East Stroudsburg South's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Delaware Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

East Stroudsburg South couldn't quite get it done against Delaware Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 8-5. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
