Soccer Recap: Yerington Starts Season with Victory at Home

Yerington gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Battle Mountain Longhorns an 8-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for Yerington in their matchups with Battle Mountain: they've now won four in a row.

This is the second loss in a row for Battle Mountain and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Yerington and Battle Mountain will both be playing Whittell the next time they take the pitch. The Longhorns will head out to face the Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on September 9.
