Clay moved up to 166 from 278 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A District 3. The Blue Devils were able to make the jump by defeating Orange Park 20-14.
Bishop Kenny was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league.
Clay's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Blue Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jake Smith has thrown for 618 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Wes Weeks has 18 catches for 398 yards. Isaac Brinson leads the league in rushing with 235 yards.
Two of the top units in 5A District 3 will face off this week when Clay takes on the Crusaders. Josh Hoekstra's team's offense has scored 112 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Bishop Kenny has allowed only 120 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Baker County takes on Parker. At the moment, the Wildcats are in second, while the Braves are in fourth.
The Blue Devils and the Raiders played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Blue Devils eventually emerging with a 20-14 victory.
