The Northeastern Jets will face off against the Tri-County North Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Northeastern's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out West Liberty-Salem 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jets.

Not much got past Renna Kelly, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep West Liberty-Salem off the board. Kelly has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kylee Williams was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Chloe Waugh was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Tri-County North had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They came out on top against the Blackhawks by a score of 4-0.
Not much got past Kasidi Daugherty, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Mississinawa Valley off the board.
At the plate, Tri-County North's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Pinion, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Pinion has posted since back in May of 2024.
Tri-County North pushed their record up to 11-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Northeastern, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Northeastern has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Tri-County North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.9 strikeouts.
