Recap: Pueblo Central Wildcats vs. Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks
The Pueblo Central Wildcats lost against the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks back in January of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Pueblo Central received a tough blow as they fell 32-15 to Cheyenne Mountain. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pueblo Central has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Pueblo Central still got an impressive performance from Emeri Whiting, who scored five points.
Cheyenne Mountain found their leader in underclassman Lucy Trunnell, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Trunnell has scored all season. Ainsley Norton was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Pueblo Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Pueblo Central will head out on the road to face off against Harrison at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cheyenne Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pueblo County at 6:30 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Pueblo County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
