Basketball Preview: Clark Fork Wampus Cats vs. Lakeside Knights

Clark Fork has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Lakeside Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Thursday, Clark Fork blew past the Warriors, posting a 73-35 victory at home.

Meanwhile, Lakeside took their game at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 81-25 win over the Miners. Given Lakeside's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Miners are ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lakeside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyson Charley, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. Charley is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brutis Sijohn, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.

Clark Fork is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Lakeside, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Clark Fork was taken down by the Knights 105-52 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Clark Fork, Vander Brown (who scored 44 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
