Softball Recap: West Bloomfield's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

West Bloomfield came out on top against Troy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run seventh inning. The Lakers blew past the Colts 11-1. Winning may never get old, but the Lakers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

CHARLIE BOWER made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on MORGAN CHRISTIAN, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. ASHLEIGH MCGUIRE was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

West Bloomfield pushed their record up to 4-20 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Troy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

West Bloomfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colts: the pair will be back at it again later today.
