Game recap: North Hagerstown High School Football Team tops Boonsboro

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - North Hagerstown (Hagerstown, Md.) snapped Boonsboro (Md.)'s 5-game winning streak, with a 40-12 victory on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Isaiah Keyes touchdown run in the first quarter, the Hubs led 26-6 at the half.

North Hagerstown expanded its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. NH scored once in the quarter on a Nick Karlen touchdown pass to Tre Anderson.

With the win the Hagerstown school extended its winning streak to seven games. The Hubs defeated the Cougars 48-6 last week.



North Hagerstown's standout player in the win was Keyes. The junior ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.

The Warriors' Ryan Ruiz played well. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown.

Boonsboro came in giving up 8.0 points per game this season. BHS struggled against NH, which came in averaging 36.5 points per game. The Hubs went into the matchup giving up only 16.3 points per game.

North Hagerstown also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 28-21.

The loss comes after Boonsboro defeated Brunswick 47-0 last week.

North Hagerstown (8-1) will play a Monocacy Valley - Antietam game against South Hagerstown next week, while Boonsboro (7-2) will take on Smithsburg also in a Monocacy Valley - Antietam game.
