Basketball Game Preview: Pine Tree Pirates vs. Gilmer Buckeyes

The Pine Tree Pirates will take on the Gilmer Buckeyes in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Pine Tree is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since December 8, 2023 last Tuesday. They fell just short of Longview by a score of 44-41. The Pirates have struggled against the Lobos recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Gilmer came up short against Wills Point on Tuesday and fell 49-42. The Buckeyes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gilmer's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Pine Tree, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
