Baseball Game Preview: East Central HomeSchool Patriots vs. Southern Christian Patriots

East Central HomeSchool hasn't had much luck against Southern Christian recently, but that could start to change on Monday. East Central HomeSchool will welcome Southern Christian at 6:00 p.m.

East Central HomeSchool came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Southern Christian, falling 9-3.

For Southern Christian's part, Trey Chamberlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. Southern Christian is 2-1 when Chamberlin posts eight or more strikeouts, but 5-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jagger Scott was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Southern Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jedd Scott, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

East Central HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Southern Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
