Basketball Preview: Classical Academy Caimans vs. Clairemont Chieftains
Classical Academy is 0-6 against the Chieftains since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Classical Academy Caimans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Clairemont Chieftains at 6:30 p.m. Classical Academy is out to stop a eight-game streak of losses at home.
Last Tuesday, Classical Academy had to suffer through a rough 66-37 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Classical Academy in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Classical Academy got a solid performance out of Joseph Lanzone, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Issac Davis, who scored eight points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Clairemont gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. Everything went their way against Point Loma as Clairemont made off with a 76-53 win.
Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Clairemont, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.
