Softball Game Preview: Woodsboro Eagles vs. Port Aransas Marlins

Woodsboro and Port Aransas are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Marlins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodsboro is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 12 games.

Woodsboro can't be too worried about heading out to take on Port Aransas: they just beat Skidmore-Tynan at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bobcats on Tuesday, sneaking past 7-5.

Meanwhile, Port Aransas made easy work of Yorktown on Friday and carried off a 17-2 victory. The Marlins haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The victory got Port Aransas back to even at 12-12. As for Woodsboro, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3.

Everything went Woodsboro's way against Port Aransas in their previous meeting back in March, as Woodsboro made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
