Basketball Game Preview: Beaumont United Timberwolves vs. Bellaire Cardinals

The Beaumont United Timberwolves will challenge the Bellaire Cardinals at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bellaire took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Beaumont United, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Beaumont United strolled past La Porte with points to spare, taking the game 78-64. The win continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won seven in a row.

Beaumont United can attribute much of their success to Payton Jones, who shot 43% from the field to rack up 20 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, and Ephriam Moore, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 15 points and five boards. What's more, Moore posted two steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joshua Coleman, who scored nine points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bellaire suffered their biggest defeat since January 28th on Tuesday. They were dealt a 73-41 loss at the hands of Episcopal.

Beaumont United's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Bellaire, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
