Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Covenant Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Dayspring Christian Academy Warriors, falling 43-22. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against Covenant Christian Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-34 back in December of 2024.

Dayspring Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabe Mellinger, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Noah Huxta, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Covenant Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Covenant Christian Academy has already played their next matchup, a 48-23 loss against Mount Calvary Christian on the 3rd. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-47 defeat against Halifax on the 4th.
