Volleyball Recap: Douglas Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Douglas unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Walden Grove Red Wolves by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Douglas' loss came despite strong showings from Alexia Sanchez and Galilea Peckham-Carrillo. Sanchez had 12 assists and two aces, while Peckham-Carrillo had four digs, three aces, and one block.

Walden Grove's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Douglas will square off against Desert View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walden Grove, they will take on Nogales at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
