Recap: Kaiser Cats vs. Dominguez Dons
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Kaiser Cats walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-14 victory over Dominguez on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for Kaiser who now have five in a row.
Elijah Ortiz threw for 52 yards on three of seven attempts. Kiyel Tyler was his top target, gaining 98 total yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Terrell Holmes-Guerrero rushed for 62 yards.
Kaiser's win was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.0 points per game. As for Dominguez, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Kaiser will be playing at home against Los Osos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Los Osos is ranked 285th, while Kaiser is ranked 301st). Dominguez does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
