Volleyball Recap: Barry Western Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Barry Western can now relate to. They fell just short of the Triopia/Virginia Trojans by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Barry Western's offense was headlined by Sophie Rennecker and Emma Dixon, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Alysa Bareis and her 28 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Barry Western's defeat dropped their record down to 22-11. As for Triopia/Virginia, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 27-10.

Barry Western didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Triopia on the 29th. As for Triopia/Virginia, they will square off against Augusta Southeastern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
