Volleyball Recap: Brown County's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Brown County lost against Illini West back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hornets fell 2-0 to the Chargers. The loss put an end to the Hornets' undefeated start to the season.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-19.

Maggi Henry paced Brown County's offense, picking up four kills. Henry got some help from Gretchen Hilburn and her four assists.

Leading Illini West to victory were Elyse Moore and Ava Shutwell. Moore had five digs and three aces, while Shutwell had three digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Moore a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Brown County fell to 2-1. As for Illini West, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Brown County has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Hamilton/Warsaw on the 2nd. As for Illini West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Lewistown on the 30th.
