Softball Recap: Kirtland Central Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Kirtland Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They put the hurt on the Bloomfield Bobcats with a sharp 16-10 victory on Tuesday. This was payback for the Broncos, who suffered a 10-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kirtland Central let Easton Myhers and Rory Benally run wild. Myhers went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Benally scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Benally a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Glorianna Gutierrez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Kirtland Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .690. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .531 that Bloomfield posted.

Kirtland Central's record is now 10-12. As for Bloomfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.
