Basketball Recap: Telluride Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Telluride). They were the clear victors by a 61-41 margin over the Dove Creek Bulldogs on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Miners considering their 29-point performance the game before.

Langston Silbergeld produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Miguel Sanchez, who went 5-for-12 en route to 15 points.

Telluride smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Telluride's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Dove Creek, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Telluride and Dove Creek will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Miners see the court they'll take on Ouray at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2026. As for Dove Creek, their break will end when they face Mancos at 7:30 p.m. on January 13, 2026.
