Softball Recap: Mifflin County Comes Up Short

Mifflin County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cumberland Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Huskies fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Huskies have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Malaina Maxwell was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Carly Dickson, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Mifflin County's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Cumberland Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That lines up perfectly with their 18-6 record this season.

Mifflin County will head out to face off against Hollidaysburg at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Cumberland Valley, they will be playing at home against Northern York at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
