Baseball Recap: Biloxi Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Biloxi ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Gulfport Admirals 5-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brody Nguyen looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Adam Rugg, who scored a run and stole five bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Connor Lofton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Biloxi's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-8. As for Gulfport, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5.

Biloxi will have a chance to go back-to-back against Gulfport: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
