Basketball Game Preview: Renaissance Phoenix vs. Wayne Memorial Zebras

The Renaissance Phoenix will take on the Wayne Memorial Zebras on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Renaissance comes in on three and Wayne Memorial on five.

Renaissance saw some tournament action on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-34 victory over Marian. Given the Phoenix's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Mustangs are ranked 198th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Wayne Memorial earned a 55-43 win over Mercy on Monday.

Wayne Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Renaissance, their win bumped their record up to 24-3.

Renaissance skirted past Wayne Memorial 41-39 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Does Renaissance have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wayne Memorial turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
