Basketball Recap: Oak City Prep Skates Past Covenant C with Ease

Oak City Prep had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Covenant C Crusaders 78-21. That looming 78-21 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bears yet this season.

Oak City Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amazin Dixon, who went 10 of 14 en route to 23 points along with seven assists and seven boards. Dixon's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Rullo, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 19 points.

Dixon wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Oak City Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Oak City Prep's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. As for Covenant C, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak City Prep will square off against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Covenant C, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Spirit of Life Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
