Preview: Dixie Greyhounds vs. Brookville Blue Devils
Dixie is 2-8 against Brookville since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Dixie Greyhounds will be home for the holidays to greet the Brookville Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Dixie earned a 56-49 win over Arcanum. Given Dixie's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while Arcanum is ranked 400th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Brookville was able to grind out a solid win over Madison last Friday, taking the game 65-54.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brookville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braedan Smart, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jace Wood, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Dixie pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Brookville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Dixie strolled past Brookville in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 54-37. Will Dixie repeat their success, or does Brookville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
