Baseball Recap: Louisville's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Louisville had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Noxubee County Tigers 12-0 on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Josh Ammons was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Kayleb White and Mitchell Turner did most of the damage at the plate: White scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3, while Turner scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave White a new career-high in RBI (two). Chunsi Miller was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Louisville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .632. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-12. As for Noxubee County, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Louisville beat Noxubee County by a score of 12-0 later that day.
