Basketball Recap: Liberty Patriots vs. Spring Valley Grizzlies

A well-balanced attack led the Liberty Patriots over the Spring Valley Grizzlies in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Liberty blew the Grizzlies out of the water with a 60-24 final score. With Liberty ahead 29-9 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Liberty found their leader in underclassman Lillian Hastings, who scored five points along with 33 steals and five rebounds. Satsuki Bradley was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Spring Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brie Ruiz, who scored seven points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Charolette Delisle, who scored six points.

Liberty has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Spring Valley, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Liberty will head out on the road to square off against the Crusaders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Faith Lutheran is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season. As for Spring Valley, they will be playing at home against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coronado is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.
