Soccer Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Independence was not quite Riverside's equal in the second half on Monday. They fell just short of the Ram by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Independence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Riverside is ranked 11th).

Independence now has a losing record of 6-7-2. As for Riverside, the win keeps they at an undefeated 14-0-1.

Coming up, Independence will head out to take on Briar Woods at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Independence are facing Briar Woods at the right time seeing as Briar Woods are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Riverside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stone Bridge at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
