Hutto came into Saturday's contest looking for another win against Brenham, but Logan Hayslip wouldn't allow it. The Cubs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Hippos on Saturday with plenty of help from Hayslip, who had 20 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Hutto lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kharmin Fisher, who had nine digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Tegan Coombs, who had ten digs and three assists.

The victory made it two in a row for Brenham and bumps their season record up to 5-4. As for Hutto, they moved to 4-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Brenham has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Richardson on the 16th. As for Hutto, they will challenge Vista Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Hippos' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
