Softball Game Preview: Cass Tech Technicians vs. Taylor Griffins

The Cass Tech Technicians will challenge the Taylor Griffins at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cass Tech's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Taylor's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Taylor will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Cass Tech extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Technicians never let Fitzgerald get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. Considering the Technicians have won 13 games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Taylor didn't have quite enough to beat Anderson on Monday and fell 4-3. The Griffins haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Madelynn Waddell ?26 put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Waddell ?26 was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Waddell ?26 wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joslyn MacKenzie ?25, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Cass Tech's victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Taylor, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
