Softball Recap: Logan Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Logan came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wayne Pioneers a 4-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in April.

Myleigh Adkins (North Georgia) was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 22 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Journee Akers, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Logan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.

Logan's win bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Wayne, their loss dropped their record down to 16-9.

As of now, neither Logan nor the Pioneers have any future games scheduled.
