Wheaton Academy entered their tilt with West Aurora on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Blackhawks. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly four runs.

Wheaton Academy got a great performance from Bryce Legel as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Legel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dom Murrell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Kiebles, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Wheaton Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Aurora struck out seven times.

Wheaton Academy pushed their record up to 21-14 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for West Aurora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 26-7.

Coming up, Wheaton Academy will square off against Kaneland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Aurora does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
