Basketball Game Preview: Swink Lions vs. Sanford Mustangs

The Swink Lions will square off against the Sanford Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Swink was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Crowley County on Saturday. The Lions put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 55-35 win. The game was the first time the Lions have beaten the Chargers on their court since February 1, 2022.

Jocelynn James was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Mendenhall, who earned ten points.

Meanwhile, Sanford gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They slipped by Salida 38-37.

Swink was dealt a bruising 56-18 defeat at the hands of Sanford in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
