Preview: Avon Falcons vs. Glastonbury Guardians
Avon is 2-8 against Glastonbury since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Avon Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Glastonbury Guardians at 6:45 p.m. Avon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Glastonbury is ranked 30th).
Avon suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were beaten by Cheney RVT 77-34. Avon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-13.
Meanwhile, Glastonbury didn't have too much trouble with South Windsor on the road on Saturday as they won 59-44.
Avon's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Glastonbury, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Avon took a serious blow against Glastonbury in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 66-30. Can Avon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
