Baseball Recap: Borah Comes Up Short at Home Against Ridgevue

Borah unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ridgevue Warhawks on Wednesday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Borah got a good showing from Ryder Ueland, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Ueland a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Borah saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keijen Shearer, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Borah will square off against Boise at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ridgevue, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Skyview at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
